Am i right in thinking the original way showed the thread title along with the latest post from the latest poster vs the new way of thread title with original post from the original poster?
No, the previous version showed a collection of the latest posts from the forum, if one thread had 20posts in it in the last 10seconds then the whole panel would be filled with posts from that thread and no others. Ideally we'd want it to display the single most recent post from a single thread, once, and then the single most recent post from the next most recently updated thread. But that doesn't appear to be an option.
That's the same way i use as well but i always have a wee glance at the bar on the right when i load up the main page.
I noticed that there's a bit of lag with new posts showing up on the new posts tab at the top compared to the right. A few times on the window on the right of the home page i could see a new post had been made, but when i clicked on new posts it wouldn't show up for a minute or so.
I was hoping it could be set up in the way Dave just mentioned it couldn't be.
I'll keep looking into it, there may be additional plugins for te data panels that are available from vb. it just needs some more time investing into it than I currently have to spare in afraid.
