Would some of these methods be adapted for my 1.7 DTi? I think it is similar to the TD but with an intercooler and couple more parts

Nope. The older diesels had no ECU so the pump and boost had to be adjusted manually. If you tried it on yours the ECU would freak out. Engines are worlds apart sadly.

Damn it. Was looking for a cheaper option to a remap, but guess the remap is the better option! Cheers

Was looking at getting one of the 1.5's but not sure if they are any good? And what sort of power have people had?. Was maybe thinking of getting one as a project/ daily runner

I had one for about 3 years. If you get a good one and keep it serviced they're bulletproof.
66Bhp standard and all mines had was a K&N panel filter in a modded air box and a stainless steel exhaust with cat and middle silencer removed. Made 77bhp on the dyno with 170,000+ miles on it

They make about 90-95bhp with a few simple mods (increased fueling and boost) and with the extra torque can show up the Sports and GSI's
A healthy one with an intercooler added with good exhaust and higher boost will make around 105bhp

Got about 60mpg if driving like a granny but it was heavyish on the fuel if you had a heavy foot.
Alternator is famous for failing on them and gearboxes are pretty weak as well when you go for more power. Turbo is quite laggy when standard. Apart from that, pretty good though

So.... I finally got my 1.5td done boost and fueling and cone filter.. also the white ring mod.. was wondering if anyone knew where I can get a decat from.. or can I use my 1.6 decat pipe and use a flexi connector? Many thanks...

It would benefit more from a slightly wider pipe rather than just removing the cat.
I'm sure the early Corsa 1.5TD had no cat, so you could just buy the pipe that goes where the cat normally does on an older one and use that.
Not sure if the 1.6 decat would work, but worth a try.
