  • [Corsa C 2000-2006] Corsa C front wiper problem stopping half way

    Hi

I have a problem with the front wipers , they stop halfway and sometimes part way and I have to flick the wiper stick to get them to park ok , I have removed the motor with taken the linkage apart and they seem to be quite free , regreased them and put it back ( I think I regreased them a couple of years back ) but it is still doing the same thing , could it have something to with worn brushes in the motor !! .

    cheers

    Could it be your switch/stalk?

Wouldnt like to guess but if your certain motors and linkages are fine I cant think of anything else, I would've thought it would be linkages though. Could need greasing again?

I would just stick in a new motor with linkages, takes 5 minutes and you'll get one from scrappys for cheap.

my wipers were doing almost the same, but also juddering which made me think linkages..

i think the linkages siezed up completely one day and i burned the motor out..

it was just as cheap getting the motor with linkages and fitting it,

      sorted my problem

Thanks Guys for your replies , I know the linkage is OK , don't know if the motor is , as I said in my thread , (could it be the brushes in the motor) could be switch stalk but how would I check that out ! .

It's the motor. On the older ones there was a separate live feed which kept power to the motor to allow the wipers to reach their park position. On the later models (ie C onwards) that was internal in the motor.

            Hi

Thanks for All your replies , I did notice when I took the motor and linkage off , that there was a plate on the gearox part where the plug attaches , but it seems to have screws and rivets , I may take it off again and see if I can remove the plate there may be some contacts inside that may want a clean , will come back here with some pics if I sort it .

            cheers
