[Corsa D 2006-2014] 1.6 Sri loud humming

My mates Car has slowly developed a very loud humming from the car when he drives it, it sounds like a wheel bearing but 10x louder it sounds like a exhaust note and also sounds like something spinning? The tone seems to change the faster you go and same when you slow down, any ideas?

It's hard to track noises you can't hear. Is it related to road speed or engine speed?

If you get on a stretch where you can put it into neutral and coast does the noise continue?

If it's road speed related I'd check wheel bearings, tyres and brakes first. Check also the gaiters on the UV joints - it's rare but I've known them make a racket if dust gets into them. Sometimes spraying them with dilute washing up liquid helps if it is the gaiters

It still does it in neutral, its a consistent noise as well

It doesn't do it when stationary neither just when driving it does sound Luke a bearing but it's very loud

Another thought, has he lowered his car?
If so maybe too much and his tyres are catching his arches which will make a droning type noise.

No it's standard mate, checked the rear pads and they was non existent lol and still unsure off the humming noise he is taking it back today
