[Corsa C 2000-2006] Air filter (what & where)

Hi all, my air filter will certainly be long over due.

Been told the K&M air filters are what I should get.

Was looking on eBay and couldn't find one, I suspect it's because I need to know what code my filter is or something?

What filter do I need for a 1.0 petrol corsa c. Or where should I be looking to find out what I got?

Best place to buy the filter online.


Think ill manage fitting it, I see where it is.

You after a cone filter or panel?

That above is your best option, better than a cone

I'm guessing panel so it fits in the pre existing box. Mate said I need a K&N 33-2212 but no idea how correct that is yet not checked.
Edit. Same as what king quoted number wise. That's probably the winner. Thanks. Will check it out when I'm home and order.

Oh I got another question, these are a bit pricey. Are they just good filters or are they performance enhancing? I'm just after a decent filter for now.

I'd just replace with standard for your engine.

K&N panel filters when oiled can damage the MAF and when un oiled don't protect as much as the paper filters.

I just don't want a cheap **** one. What would you reccomend? Want reliablilty , its only an old 1.0.

Just stay with a standard one and drill the airbox

If it was me i'd recommend a genuine vauxhall standard air filter in a standard air box.

Everything has it's pro's and con's. I've got a K&N Panel filter, had them in all my cars and never had a problem.

I've been doing a lot of reading on them recently.
They need to be oiled to trap the same amount of dirt as a regular paper filter. The problem with this is on cars with a MAF, due to the suction from the engine the oil can be sucked off the filter and eventually cause problems with the MAF.
If they're put in dry they don't stop as much dirt as a regular paper filter. On turbocharger cars it can damage the turbo blades like a sandblaster effect and on non turbo cars you're just going to get a bit more dust particles entering the engine.

Nothings easy lol.

I cant get at my own filter because the screws have rusted, and they just power away - so unable to get any purchase and don't wish to force it until I can figure out a way around it.

gonna spray with WD40 and leave for a bit, anyone know off-hand what screws these are so I can replace?
