  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] C20let Cams question?

Hi I am doing up my C20let Corsa at the moment to eds 3.5 spec and have a question regarding cams.
Which is best for power and best for a EDS 3,5 set up? A c20xe inlet cam retarded half tooth or .7 degrees with a vernier pulley, or a set of Courtney Turbo high lift cams. Has anybody used either of these cam set ups??

I'm using c20xe cam, retarded with vernier pullies, I have no experience with Courtney ones, but assume its pretty much the same stuff just more money

Thanks for the reply, I will probably stick with the c20xe inlet cam as have seen many great reviews about doing this modification and its cheaper than the Courtney turbo cams as stated.

Just an update, I rang Courtney Turbo today and asked which they thought was best, XE inlet cam and vernier retarded at .7 degrees or Courtney Turbo High lift cams. The man I spoke to said he had never tried an xe inlet cam so could not comment on that! As for the Courtney cams he said they can give around 8 to 10 bhp gains and was not sure of torque gains. He also said the cams run on standard marks and do not need vernier set up. He said they are a mild high lift cam. After all the research I have done I believe the XE cam with a vernier is the best way to go and will give better bhp and torque gains for alot less money!
Here is a great article about the XE cam mod, well worth a read!

You would've thought they'd know specifics of torque and such like at Courtney.

Hi Lee, yes when I rang Courtney Turbo I was surprised that they didn't seem to know the torque of the Courtney high lift cams. The man I spoke to said he works on mostly Z20LET engines now rather than c20let. He said he has never even fitted a C20xe inlet cam in a C20let, but this is a common mod so I was also surprised by this too as I thought they were specialists in C20lets.I found it hard finding information about the Courtney Turbo high lift cams, nobody seems to know.
