  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] C20xe juddering

    Symptoms:

Car judders under acceleration and deceleration
Gearbox is whining and sometimes crunches when put in reverse
Idles at just over 2000 revs after stopping and drops back to 1000 after a few seconds

Any ideas would be much appreciated

Would say clutch or if it use's it clutch cable adjuster needs tweaking.

Either ICV or MAF sensor would be my first two points of call. Unplug the MAF sensor and take it for a drive, if it drives slightly better (all be it down on power) then theres you'r culprit, if it stays the same or gets worse, then the MAF is fine.

The revs raising when you come to a stop does sound very much like ICV though, any codes stored???

Not read the codes as I don't know how, but the idle control valve has been swapped already and it's still the same if not worse, I forgot to mention that there is an air leak somewhere between the ecotec pipe to the icv going to try some hose tape as a temp measure for that

Air leak would duck things up

I've just recieved a new throttle body but the disk in the main port is flat where as the one that is currently on the car has a piece on top the shape of a semi circle, will this make any difference?

also got some hose tape on which has made the air leak a little bit quieter but its still leaking from somewhere

                flat body is better.

                fix all air leaks first.

not sure where the air leak is now, tried all the hoses on the inlet, plugged the charcoal canister hose and it only seems to leak air when in higher gears at low speeds

spray some wd40 at the parts that may be leaking. if the revs change theres the issue
