  • [Corsa C 2000-2006] Auto box jerky

Anyway been driving someone's 1.2 corsa c auto but it feels proper jerky every time it changes gear, is this normal?

Anything that could be done to make it a bit smoother?

Check the fluid is the first thing - and also make sure the engine servicing is up to date. Poor engine running will cause a jerk on auto-shift.

Thanks apparently it's serviced upto date. Do the auto boxes require oil changes? Not a sealed unit are they

It's a good idea to renew the fluid from time to time, and check the filters on them.

From experience in my dads 2.0 auto vectra B, the fluid being renewed will do it the world of good. Gear changes on his were awful until it went in for a FULL service which included gearbox fluid and filter change

There's a drain plug - it's the same process as changing the engine oil.
