  • [Corsa C 2000-2006] Egr valve to replace or not ??

    Right guys should I replace or blank off the egr valve on my 2002 corsa c 1.0 12v pros and cons ?

    If cleaning doesn't do the trick then you can blank it off. Make sure you get the right plate as the later head porting is different.

    When blanked the car will run fine and no problems with MOT emissions. You may get the EML on at motorway speeds, but ignore it.

        Take it off and use Quiksilver Powertune (from a boatyard or eBay). It's better than carb cleaner. Use a new gasket when refitting.

          Was Tring oven cleaner it's slowly taking it off but will have a look at quicksilver powertune

            I blanked off mine last summer and did a 300 kilometer trip yesterday,-50 mph mostly. EML came on during the trip. Did the paperclip routine and got code 43. EML reappeared after a few miles. Not to worry as car runs fine, no hesitation.
