Some easy ways to tell if clutch is going...
Firstly, park up with handbrake on and in gear then come off the clutch slowly with handbrake in and no revs, if you can take you foot off clutch without stalling or car trying to pull away then that's not a good sign.

When you are drivin, if you change gear really quick and stamp on the accelerator, you will either pull away quite fast or your revs will build and you won't go any faster, that is also not good sign

Also, if you are cruising at a certain speed and try pull away and again revs build but Car doesn't pull away then also bad sign lol

If you have all those problems then you need a new clutch

On the Corsa B, there used to be an adjuster on the clutch cable to the gearbox. If that had loosened off by itself it gave all the symptoms of a worn clutch. May be worth having a look.

The C is hydraulic so there's no adjustment. If the bite is high and it's showing signs of slipping then it's usually the plate.

I wouldn't take it to Halfords. Go for an independent clutch specialist.
