  • [Corsa C 2000-2006] Corsa c headgasket problem ????

Hi all im new to forums ... I really need help , I bought my 2004 plate 1.2 16v sxi corsa in November private and all that needed doing was the timing chain , about 3 months ago I was driving to work and the emissions light came on then flashed went into limp mode then went off again , I left it for abit and then it didn't come back on then as the weeks progressed got abit bad so I did all the following :changed the lambda sensor on the manifold changed the sparks the coil pack the maf sensor cleaned the throttle body , the egr was blanked off , I was loosing coolant but the car never went past 80/85 when driving but stood in traffic it wud sit at 90 then go back down , after that the car had a p0300 code and wouldn't start so I was told it was crank sensor , replaced that it started and then immediately had a p0300 code random misfire , this point I felt like smashing the car up , but the car didn't misfire unless it was idling or the revs were sat at 2000rpm or lower, anyway got the timing chain replaced and after about 20 mins of driving it out the garage BOOM the dreaded light came on as I was idling at traffic lights!!! , again I was using coolant and it was a nightmare I would fill up drive to the local shops and it would of gone! but there was no leak on the floor etc , and it would have a terrible jumpiness to it when idling then the emissions light would flash and limp mode til I turned it off and back on , then I cleaned the tb again and I forgot to put the overflow pipe that went from the coolant bottle to the TB , it solved the problem and the car didn't go into limp mode no lights no nothing it ran sweet BUT the temp gauge on the car would sit at 90 then sometimes go to 95 and at one point it rose to 100c so I pulled over and turned the car off the fan kicked it and then I filled back up with water and then it was fine , but as soon as I connect the overflow pipe from the TB to the coolant bottle I have the EML light on the car goes into limp mode , took it to the garage and he put it on and said there was a lot of pressure in the car when the overflow pipe was on and the water would bubble , he said he spoke to his mate at Vauxhall and he said its the headgasket yet the cars never gone into the red zone on temp gauge it drives fine no smoke coming from exhaust and no gung on the oil cap or dipstick , he said due to the timing chain being replaced and torqued to the right spec it would of broke the headgasket ... someone please help me or tell me hes talking crap!!

sorry for the long s.a please help

Might be best to leave it 24 hours rather than 26 minutes before bumping it so it gives people a chance to read it and give advice.

TBH, I had one look at it and instantly decided I wasn't going to read it.

Break it up a bit with paragraphs, and full stops

Your head gasket could have gone I had a vectra that used a lot of water no white smoke or oil in the header tank then one day it went white smoke all over the place
I would get an compression test done on it

Don't take it to Vauxhall. Ask around for an independent garage with a good reputation.
Compression test shouldn't cost much. It's a 20-30 minute job tops.

If it turns out its not the head then does anyone know what it could be , it only ever seems to eff up when the overflow pipes connected from the coolant bottle tothe TB ??

As for the over heating it could be down to a sticking thermostat

Might be its on the end of the toe hose and bolts to the head
I had one the other day on a Astra it was over pressurising and if was down to a stuck shut thermostat
