[Corsa B 1993-2000] Engine light comes on under heavy acceleration

Engine light comes on under heavy acceleration and loses power - but fine once take foot off of the gas.

Anyway cleaned then blanked off my EGR Valve - car now goes like a rocket (great!!). Trashed it good and proper, Thought the problem was solved but although it takes longer the light still goes on.

Wonder what else I can try. Was going to clean the exhuast sensor that plugs into the cat.

Possibly MAF (mass airflow) sensor. Quite common on these engines. Does it have a cone filter on it? They usually break them.

The EML will come on occasionally if the EGR is blanked. So I'd suggest checking the codes stored, clear them then check again if the EML comes on again. No point guessing when you've got the ability to use the car's diagnostics.
