Could be a few things but i've heard cars with much worse rattling / tapping that lasted for years so even if you ignore it and keep it well serviced it probably will be fine..
Do you know when it last had an oil change or how often it's had them in it's life?
What mileage does it have just now?
Is the oil level ok?
Is the EML on?
Just ticked over to 70k miles this week don't know when it last had stuff done... Will be doing oil ASAP oil level is on the lower side of ok aparwntly no eml or oil light or anything
It could be the injectors, they can get a bit noisy at times. But it's hard to tell off a video - get hold of a mechanic's stethoscope and use the metal probe attachment to check various parts of the engine. If it's not had a good service history then valve train noises can sound like that, but they'll run like that for years so long as you keep on top of oil changes from now on.
As usual, don't use a flush. Do a couple of 2k oil changes and then 5k from then on. That will clean it more gently.
A screwdriver works, but a proper stethoscope is cheap and tbh it's one of the best bits of kit you can have for diagnostics. Using a proper 'scope leaves your hands free, means you can hear with both ears, you can see what you're doing much better and the metal probe is thin and long. For checking injectors a 'scope is much better.
That's not unusual. So long as it goes quiet pretty quickly it isn't an issue. If it taps for a while then it sounds like a partially blocked lifter. Don't be tempted to use a flush in it. Use a good quality 5W/30 oil, I personally prefer semi-synth to full synth, and do a few frequent oil/filter changes. That ought to clean it progressively. The feeds for the lifters are small so any trace of deposits limits flow until warm oil reaches the upper parts of the engine.
