  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] Safest front trolley jacking point?

Hi all, where is a solid, safe location to jack the front of the car up? Thanks.

Front sills where the jacking points are, one side at a time. If you're going to be working under the car I suggest investing in some axle stands. Could quite literally be a life saver.

Yeah don't go under the car just in a jack .. Jacks fail and unless you can hold a car on your head no problems it won't be very goos

        Sills? Erm No thanks.

        There's front cross member,
Then section behind each front wheel an L Shape on chassis rails, that's nice and solid.

I wouldn't be using sills, unless emergency with scissor jack

On poverty spec models without sill skirts you can use the lower edge of the sill - where the suicide jack engages - if you use a rubber pad with grooves cut into it (see below). But otherwise use the box section Vegas refers to as that is usually solid. However, that box section is one of the areas where the B loves to rot, sometimes from the inside out, and they can collapse without warning on old Corsas. So check it carefully before jacking on it. Any signs of corrosion in that area and proceed with caution.

if you do use a trolley jack on the sills do what I did get some wood and cut a "v" in the wood this will protect the sill for the numpty scissor jack in case you need it .I wish I could put some pics up so you would know what I mean but I am new on here , today in fact .
