  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] Fuel pump not working!!

OK, I had intermittent starting issues for a while and now she won't start! I've checked fuel pump pre pressurising sound when I turn key and nothing. I'm thinking its the crankshaft sensor, faulty fuel pump or relay/fuse. I've swapped ECU/key reader and key transponder twice so I know that's not it. I'm leaning toward crankshaft sensor!

Can't read codes as my obd2 can't communicate with either ECU's. My obd2 pins don't look filled like the 10 or 16 pin pics I've seen so paper clip method is a no no. Please help!

Lift rear seat up, hit pump with a hammer (don't break it)

    That should work

    (serious answer)

Just as bashed it but to no avail. I just think for whatever reason, it's not being told to work from something ecu related. Grr

Is there power going to it? Do you have a multi meter

I would try again under the seat, wiggle the wires a bit see if it's a bad connection

If that doesn't work, have you checked fuses/relays

The fuel pump should run a priming run when you turn the key to no.2 position, then cut out and wait for the crankshaft sensor to tell the ECU that the engine is turning. So check for fuel pressure with the ignition on but before cranking. If there is pressure then, but not after cranking, it's the crankshaft sensor. If there's no pressure before cranking it's a dud pump/relay/fuse.

Invest in a cheap multimeter - it's an essential bit of kit for checking these things.

OK, I've been busy, multimeter arriving 2moro but I've deduced that there is no power getting to the relays! Where does that leave me? Grr

                          Replace the relays?

I could but I'm not convinced power is reaching the relay! My tongue is now burnt so I guess I'll wait till the multimeter arrives to confirm.
If its confirmed that power isn't being sent to the pump relay, where does that leave me?

If not power is being sent to the relay check the fuses and the wiring. Have a look at the wiring diagram and follow the path back to the point where power disappears.
