  • Engine Conversion - How hard?

  • #2
It would need a different gearbox and drive shafts and more
1.8 small block as far as I'm aware would fit with the old gearbox
Think the engine code is x18xe1

I hear that the F28 6 speed gearbox works with the c20xe?

It can, but it's a really expensive and heavy choice for just a C20XE

What other gearboxes would work with the C20xe?

            F20 and F16 work I think.

Why would you want to fit an f28 to a c20xe :/

If a car has had bad rust then had a 'back yard mechanic' sort it, I wouldn't trust a heavier more powerful engine in there. And that no detriment to you, but the chassis.

I admire your plans and applaud your thinking regards YouTube tutorials as knowledge should be free and shared! But...lol, I wouldn't bother, its too much grief and for your total costs, you may as well buy another motor.

                              Ignore that IMO,

I learnt loads doing it myself, and I had to ask my dad to help me change a wheel when I got my car. Now I have a 400bhp Corsa, which I drove to Germany in.
                              Get stuck in
