Hi, all. I've come to the conclusion that next time I do a head strip, I might as well remove the engine completely and place it on a stand as you practically strip the bay anyway! Lesson learned! Any opinions my friends?

The more you take to bits the more the likelihood of problems arising. I generally keep things to a minimum and make life simpler. It depends on the car and access of course. Is it not the case that on a corsa B at least, that you cannot remove the engine whole from the top as there is not enough room to the left for the engine to clear the transmission
So transmission has to be dropped off from underneath to get the engine out
