[Corsa D 2006-2014] Vauxhall Corsa D 2008 Steering Rack Replacement

Hi,


I have a 2008 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2i 16v. Took it to halfords (which i know was a dumb mistake0 who replaced a worn wheel beering and told me the steering rack is bent because i took it in at first because when you turn to the right full lock, it turn more then it should do and the tyre scrapes inside.

They quoted me 400 quid, which to me is too much.

Now my question is do i just need the rack replaced or does there need to be any reprogramming of some sort done which someone was telling me.

yh it was a cat d repaired car a I bought. I took it to national before I took it halfords jus to get the steering aligned, at that time I didn't find the problem because I never fully turned the wheel. They didn't notice nothing when doing the aligning.


Im in taking it to a garage today, I just wanted to know incase that guy blabs to me I need reprogramming. Thanks for that. Isn't it strange that national tyres didn't notice nothing or is it that they woudnt have from just doing steering alignment?
