Didn't realise it uses more fuel - maybe that's why I'm forever filling it up.
Would that explain why I can smell fuel burning all the time?
Also, would it do anything to the idle speed as its idles slightly rough and thought that it might be due to one of the lambda sensors needing replacing which would also account for the fuel smell.
MOT isn't an issue - I can get that sorted *wink wink nudge nudge*
say no more, say no more!
I have never noticed a MPG difference in decatting, except for gains. Its usually a gain of like 0.3mpg because less restriction. All the cat does is convert the gas. So its all pros, no cons. Biggest pro is, now the gas produced is carbon MONOXIDE and not converted to Dioxide, so its nice and toxic and you can leave the garage door shut while you warm up the car with the neighbors barking dog in there... or the neighbor...
now as far as idle and all that. It can cause those problems, IF! its old, and the guts are piling up causing restriction. It will cause some choking out that a FI motor will counter with more fuel. more fuel means burning up a cat. If you have Manifold cats, more fuel means a melting cat and when the cat starts to glow red at idle, your car isnt going to be running much longer and it will eat your exhaust valves and all kinds of fun (happens to Lexus cars that arent cared for.)

Yeah here you bribe the emissions guy with like $100 US which is like... 5p? LOL.
and I have had some experience with the monoxide poisoning... had open headers on a car that dumped right under the cabin, below my transmission, and the smoke was leaking into the cab and i didnt know why every time I drove for more than 20 miles I started getting a headache and feeling like I was going to throw up.
Pros:
Potentially sounds nicer.
Possibility of flames.
Spit flames when vosa are behind you.
Spit flames when a Prius is behind you.
Rebellion in exhaust form.
What more could you want!?
