  • [Corsa C 2000-2006] MAssive oil leak

Hi to all, another newbie with car problems.

Our 2001 1.2 16v Corsa has decided to drop all it's oil on a 5 mile run today. The car has been fine and was serviced a month ago. It recently did a long haul trip without any problems.

Got home from town today to find a massive pool of oil gathering under the car within a few minutes, closer inspection the car is soaked underneath front to back in oil on the drivers side. I cant see where it is coming from due to being too hot to look closely at the moment.

Is there a common fault on the C possibly a crank seal or similar? All the oil is on the cambelt side of the engine. Engine has been running perfectly and still sounds fine. obviously not going to run it again until I cure the leak.

The rocker seal was weeping slightly before but I cant see that it would manage to lose that much oil via that seal (which was replaced when I serviced the car).

Any thoughts, opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Similar problem, although less oil when my dipstick snapped off. Common fault too!

Seen drips, but not pools. Maybe we have different idea of pools of oil.. You said it dropped ALL it's oil. In 5 miles :/

Unless sump is removed it's pretty impossible to know you've lost all the oil. I think he just means nothing showing on dipstick

Nothing at all showing on the dipstick. the whole D/S of the car is covered in oil underneath and pools of oil under the car. To prove the sensor I unplugged the lead refilled the oil started the car and it was literally just like turning on a tap.

It's really common for the sensors to leak oil, but it's a dead easy fix.
