When I turn the steering wheel full left or full right (to the end) there is a sound like worn alternator belt. Is there a belt in the servo system? It is a hydraulic servo btw.
It may just be loose, info glarey if those engines have a tensioner or not that you can adjust manually, but if not, then replacing the belt will stop the noise.
pas is noisey at full lock due to the fluid bypass opening in the rack, and creating a full pressure loop of fluid. hence the NYAAAAAHHHHH noise you get.
1. loose belt (need pulley adjusting)
2. worn out belt (need replacing, most likely)
3. fluid bypassing (if so, why It never happened before?)
The sound first came out 2 weeks ago. Maybe it is because of the 24 hour rain that won't stop. My mechanic will have to give it an eye, but I know what he is going to say: it is very difficult to change that belt, there is no working space there, we'd have to take the engine out, too much work, its not worth it, just drive....
Can somebody post a picture of the belt, and where it is positioned?
