[Corsa B 1993-2000] X14xe timing belt tentioner

Hi guys, finally got my head around doing the timing belt on my car however my dad stripped the head of the torx bolt for the belt tentioner, tried everything to get it off but in the end I had to weld a bolt onto the head of the tentioner bolt to get it off, does this mean I've wrecked the tentioner? Or will it be ok?

Can't really say without being able to see it, but I'd look for a replacement from a scrappies rather than risk a damaged tensioner.

It was bought brand new with the timing kit. I've still the one that came off the car when i changed the timing belt. I've a few pictures here of the tentioner after it was cleaned up and before. Looks like its mostly just smoke stains from the welding and a few spatter marks of metal from the welding which i've cleaned off. Still rotates smoothly.
