  • Steering turns too far right causing tyre to foul part of vehicle (MOT failure)

Car has a major defect on MOT as when turning full lock right the right tyre fouls part of the suspension I believe.
Wheel / tyre sizes are standard and correct.

What I've found is if I turn the steering wheel full left lock, it turns to about 520 degrees (bit under 1.5 turns)
If i turn the wheel full right lock, it turns about 560 degrees (bit over 1.5 turns).
The steering wheel is straight when the wheels are pointed straight.

Does it just need an alignment or is it something else?

    Many thanks.

I can't imagine that this is an alignment problem, but it could even stem from some previous accident damage.
I would have thought that the tester would have given you some sort of indication as to the cause, so because of the potential hazard, I would suggest that you consult the MoT tester and ask their advice.

    Regards
