  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] x14xe timing belt

Hi guys got my timing belt replaced today but it doesn't seem right. It seems abit loose to me? Also should the pointer on the tensioner move as you're rotating the engine by hand? Also does the timing marks look fine? I took a video of what movement i'm getting.

The pointer will move, so long as it sits in the right place at rest it's OK. The marks look OK on the photo. I always rotate several times to make sure they stay lined up.

The tension isn't loose. If anything it looks slightly tight, but that may just be the video. Check the tensioner mark. A rule of thumb used to be that you could twist the belt 90 degrees on its longest run.

Watching the video my belt has got pretty much the same tension and has been fine, you don't want them super stiff

Timing marks look OK to me. You will know if they are even a little out as it will start and run, but idle like a sack of spanners.

I go by the rule if you grab the belt and can twist it a quarter of a turn its tight enough dont want it anymore than that

I'm not sure what you are asking about in terms of suggestions what to do. The marker look lined up right, if you've rotated the engine several times and they are OK then it's OK.
The tensioner marker will move when you rotate the engine, so long as it comes back to the right mark when stationary then it's OK.

If it all looks good I'd just drive it. There's not a lot else we can say as we can't actually inspect the car. If you're not sure, or you think there's a problem, you'd need to get someone to physically inspect it.
