  • [Corsa D] Corsa D belt squeal or bad water pump?

    Hi everyone.

In my first post about the oil leak (I've sorted that yay) I said about how I was having a squealing noise coming from down by the alternator. This noise was only when the engine had reached operating temperature. I filmed a clip of the noise and have posted it below. Hopefully someone has experienced this issue as I tried the talcom powder trick and if i'm honest I really didn't notice much of a difference.

    Thanks!

My guess would be a dry/damaged bearing. I would remove the belt and try turning the pulleys by hand to see if there is any grinding, scratching or free spinning (dried out/worn bearings).

As Tommy has said, remove the Aux belt and give the pulleys a spin . Could be the belt tensioner , as it's down buy the Alternator, hidden under the right hand engine mounting.
