  • [Corsa D 2006-2014] Error code P0117

So, just had this error code come up on Bruce.

Being a 10 plate it's just on the switch over for some parts, so I'm actually struggling to find the Coolant Temperature sensor in the engine bay.

Everywhere online has guide for the 2006 engine, but as I found when replacing lambda sensors, mine is different.

So, any ideas where it should be? It's not on the left hand side/top by the air box

    Engine is a 1.2 16v crap box

What sensor are you looking for, the lambda sensor will be in the exhaust. Before and after the cat.

Oh I've just checked the code it's for the coolant temperature sensor. It's at the other end of the cylinder head on that year. Where the rad hose go's into the water pump .I think there might be two on that year . One for the gauge and one for the fans .

          Thanks dude!

Had a quick check by unplugging them both at separate times to check which one (thanks for the pointer on location of the one!!)

One is on the rad at the bottom, on the drivers side, and the other is where you said

P0117 is the one for the Radiator, P0118 is for the sensor on the thermostat housing!

Picking up a new sensor from Vauxhall tonight.

That should stop the car thinking the coolant is at 140 degrees!!!

140 are the fans running all the time .
if they are put a wire from the battery earth to the body of the sensors one at a time and see if the fans stop .

Out of interest Restorer you wouldn't happen to know which is the earth lead from the sensor out of the green and grey wires would you?

                  I haven't got a wiring diagram yet for a corsa d.
if you've got a multi meter disconnect the sensor and see which wire is continuity with earth .

I'll always be here to share my (lack of) knowledge!

Still have my in-laws Corsa to do Corsa-ey things with
