  • [Corsa C 2000-2006] Driver's wet feet

My 2005 Corsa 'C' is normally garaged at night, but it had to spend a night or two outside last week in heavy rain - result as title.

As far as I could ascertain, water was entering near to the brake pedal, so removed wiper blades and windscreen scuttle to investigate.
Didn't fancy removing the servo, only to find that there possibly wasn't a problem in that area anyway.
A product called 'Dum Dum Putty' (a non setting substance) is/was the traditional coachbuilders sealant, but I have no idea if this is even still available.

My (somewhat pikey) solution was to go to B&Q and buy a tin of 'Plumbers Mate' which I have moulded round the top half of the servo, between it and the bulkhead, in order to deflect any water.
So far so good as far as the hosepipe test has gone, it remains to be seen if it will succeed in keeping the rain out!

A spin off from this, is that, whilst I had the wiper motor assembly off the car, I was able to give that 'a bit of a service'.

    Regards.

Are you asking for help or telling us how you fixed the problem?

I had the same problem on my Corsa C, you have to bleed the brakes and then take the master cylinder off and use a special sealant to seat around the brake servo seal to do it properly. it's a very common fault on the Corsa C as the seal is stupidly made out of foam.

All in all, it's a whole days job if you haven't done it before. Pain the the backside to get to, it's just a 10 min fix but getting to it is ridiculous.

Looks like i've got water coming in from the rear of the car as well now, drivers side rear passenger seat is wet and i followed a trail of water leading to around the boot... opened the boot and the whole carpet is soaking wet. I don't have anything in the boot so it's not coming from a water bottle or something like that. Anyone heard of a fault for a corsa c leaking from the boot somewhere?
