[Corsa C 2000-2006] Fuel cap flap damage / Potential fuel theft attempt

Hi all, noticed yesterday that my mini "door" that hides my fuel cap is loose, and today I thought I would check it when locked and low and behold the plastic clip that is meant to be there that allows the pin to lock it has been snapped off.

It wasn't like this a few days ago, so I have a few questions - mainly - what do I do?


There is no evidence, but I suspect its an attempt at stealing fuel and there is a few dickheads who I could easily blame however no proof. Who should I report it to, police? insurance?

Any idea how I go about fixing this? off my own back? insurance (but I'm only 3rd party fire and theft so wont be covered).

I can probably find another cover, hopefully in the same colour? anyone done this repair before and can advise? or is it possible to fix the broken missing clip?

When my central locking stopped working on my B and i couldn't lock the flap anymore, i just bought a locking fuel cap for it from ebay.
Fixed central locking after that so flap locked as well as the cap.

You can't claim through insurance for it, but even if you could the excess would cost more probably than the repair.

As above just buy a locking fuel cap I did it when I first got the car just in case theres loads on eBay I got mine from VauxWorld's eBay store

The door is a bit loose though now and easily opens.

I'll replace the flap if easily done, can get one for 13-20quid. I'll see about a locking cap also then till it's fixed.

Ordered locking cap from eBay and another flap. Hope they fit as didn't have part numbers. Black is black I hope too lol.

Will try find out how to replace it. Thanks for input. If anyone knows about fitting these please shed some light.

Not sure on the paint quality, isn't as shiny as mine - looks like its been resprayed from white but its the right colour I think and barely noticeable.

TPFT!? Isn't that more expensive than fully comp nowadays anyway?

Sometimes is, sometimes isn't. Always worth checking both.


For me it's about 2k more on the 2.0
