Hi Guys first thread as I said above Have just bought a 2000 plate 1.2 16v GLS with 38000 miles on the clock its nearly mint and was a steal but the o/s rear door seal seems to be hanging down and is really hard to get to stay there. Don't have the readies at the moment to replace with a new one so was wondering the best way to do a quick fix just for now to make it water tight. can I cut it so that it fits better or is there a trick or fix that is better? Thanks in advance guys
Hi Guys fixed this recently by removing then replacing taking care to push it into the corners. This seemed to stop it from coming off and hanging down rained like mad today and it doesn't leak so job done. Thanks for your ideas this site so far has been totally awsome as it has saved my life on several ocasions.
Glad you have sorted it just remember there is two internal metal strips within the rubber you can feel and see these sometimes a simple set of pliers and gently squeeze the gap closer together makes them as good as new.
Thanks tanktop had a look today and you were right gave it a squeeze and it suddenly became a lot tighter. Hope this sorts it for good as my last car a Honda Civic was permanantly wet in the winter and was embarrasing when people sat at the back, don't want this again.
