I have a post 97 b and want gsi seats are they a straight swap

You'll need the bit that holds the rear seat back in place out of a pre97 car I think.
You know the bar it clips into at the top and releases when you press the button on the top to fold down... That bit.

Actually I don't think it's down to age, it might be the one piece backs that are different to the 60/40 split ones.
