[Corsa C 2000-2006] Changing Speedo mats

Hi all. Finally got round to trying to sort my burn mark Speedo mats.

Can't straight swap the clocks as far as I'm aware as car won't start when I swap as believe immobilizer locks it out. The connector itself has more plastic inside then mine takes but could possibly carve it out if need be.

But I'm only after the actual mats. I've removed this from the donor however I want to be able to remove mine and fit the donor mats without screwing up my Speedo.

Any advise on this? Can create a tut when done also but Dont want to balls up Speedo for time been.

Is it a case of marking where needles are because they seemed to just move when getting them off the donor.

Urgh, turns out when I shine my phone camera LED light through the replacement its the same, maybe its not "burn" marks. but its an area where the plastic looks a little bit thicker where the bulbs go. or at least shaded, weird

Any idea if its possible to get around this? Different LED bulbs (Brighter?) or maybe not use White as this shows up or aftermarket mat maybe? Clean the surface with anything?

When shining light through my donor Speedo clock face I pulled out it looks like it will have same issue. I also Dont want to mess up Speedo needle location.

Can't be helped with white LED?

Prefer black non sxi clocks by far really.

I'm sure you could just buy new clocks and they use opcom to match the mileage up

New clocks do the same it seems. Think it's just with SXI white dials. This is my donor below.

I did buy other clocks, won't fit unless I butcher the connector and already been opened up to obtain the mat / dial sheet below.

I think the solution is getting rid of white dials (Don't like them anyway), or changing to non-white LED's? or if the burn mark can be removed from the plastic with some sort of chemical?

both of mine are, doesn't scrape off like a stain. Would be easier going black or changing LED colour then finding a clean donor speedo. Plus expense. I like white LED though

Would get black clocks if wasn't a chew on taking just the dial mat out or getting a full unit programmed to my mileage / immobiliser?

Anyone know what the process of changing the full speedo unit is?

Can only VX program this?
