A bulb has just blown, so I'm going to replace the whole lot for white ones. I've got H7 for dipped, H1 in the main beam. Any recommendations on bulbs to get? I don't want a blue tint to them, just a nice clean white light.

Think hardcores the bulb guy these days.
If you was happy with one that just blown - stock? then get another stock jobby?
Otherwise I think Nightbreakers are good standard bulbs.Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 CDTi SRi - New Car

I've tried loads of bulbs and there's never any pure white.
Either yellow with a hint of blue
Yellow
Or xenon effect whiteish blue
On Halogen bulbs, the whiter you go the duller they become
They're whiter because they add a blue film over the bulbs to filter out the yellow.
The thicker the film, the whiter they are but obviously this means the bulb gets hotter so it fails faster and less light is able to escape so not as bright.

There's a legal limit on brightness of all bulbs (can't remember what it is)
Someone showed me the spec sheets and a regular Osram bulb, puts out the same brightsness as a Nightbreaker Plus.
The Nightbreaker plus focuses the light in a different way though so on most headlights most of the light is directly in front of the car and gives more useable light.
They're still very yellow though.
If i was you, i'd just keep the regular main beams, or else buy regular Osram bulbs for the main beam.
For dipped where brightness isn't as important and you want it to look nicer then Philips Blue vision have done me well in all my cars. Still yellowish with a hint of blue at certain angles but much whiter than OEM
