[All Models] key help

Hey i was just wandering if any one knows how much it would be to fix a key. IM thinking of doing it for my dad as a Christmas gift as his buttons don't work and he has to hand lock it. Is it an easy fix or??

Central locking key?
Does it need batteries?

My buttons were worn through but mine worked. The chip inside comes out really easy but it's not an easy fix if chip has gone.

Yea it's central locking it works sometimes if he hits it on a wall so I don't think it's the battery

Might be loose connection inside or loose connection to battery.
My Corsa C key comes apart dead easy. Might even have a thread on it somewhere as I did write about it.

Different to my key but it's always worth changing battery if it hasn't been done in ages.

Got a spare key that works fine or just the one ?
