  • [Corsa C 2000-2006] ECU Warning Light - Faulty Sensor?

    Hi All,

Purchased a Corsa C 04 plate for my first car! So far, great little thing, I love it. However, over the last few weeks The ECU Fault light has started coming on. I've done a bit of research. (trial and error).

I've noticed that the light only comes on when its cold. (7c this morning). The temp gauge on the dash board doesnt move. it stays on 0c.
10 mins later, when the engine is warmed up. the needle moves slightly. If I then switch the engine off and back on again, the needle goes all the way to the middle and the ECU warning light goes off!

This makes me think that its the temp sensor thats causing the issue?

I don't really wanna pay silly money taking it to a machanic for him to tell me what I already think I know.

Can anyone confirm? offer different thought? think I can just get a sensor off ebay and fit it myself?

    Many Thanks,

CTS = coolant temperature sensor. If yours is the chain cam version then the CTS is on the water pump and both drives the temp. gauge and tells the ECU when the engine is hot.
