[Corsa C 2000-2006] New stereo advice / speakers

Hi all. Feel like cars hanging in the balance so don't want to go daft but do want a better stereo and maybe speakers with as little modifications as possible. Would also like it to support my iPod and be able to wire an iPod to the back and be able to control iPod browsing via stereo buttons. I don't bother with CD but will likely be a CD player that I need. I do listen to radio and would like it NOT to mess with the MFD if the car. I've still got door cards to sort out as my driver side one is a mess since removed so want to do this before replacing them

In short. Can someone recommend a good stereo following above requirements? Don't want to pay hundreds, maybe even a used if its cheaper.

Also better speakers that can be simply plug and play replacing stock.

I'm in the same position as am upgrading my speakers at moment, I have some 6.5" components for the front to go with my sub + amp, and will probably leave the backs as will have more front fill as it sounds better when the soundstage is as far forward as possible

I didn't list a price. But yeah just want a iPod supporting stereo that has radio and doesn't mess MFD up as I heard some do?

The only way it'll mess with the mfd is the centre but will be blank when the stereo is on, and show the date when the stereo is off.

Just cut or pull out the grey/red trace wire on the mfd and it'll display the date whether on or off. Any after market stereo will cause this issue, vauxhall ones won't as they're programmed to display the radio information when turned on

If it's going in your C, then make use of the double din space and go double din! looks so much better

Yeah . Seems nice but in halfords and doesn't say it supports iPod like the others but it does. Usb is in front as well not back :/

I do prefer having my USB coming out of the back, eventually I'm going to run it to where the front fog light switch would be and mould it into that. Will look sweet!

This doesn't have one out the back, but at this price I thought balls to it why not.

Guy in shop said I can just fit it without the kit for now and buy the kit for half the price online, so will do that. Might fit it now and see how I get on.

Said that if it doesn't "remember" settings I must swap yellow/red around. Just gotta remember that and remember how to enable MFD if it effects that lol.

Oh and door card handle came away in my hand lol. Sick of this car!

Just realised you're in a C so the red/grey wire will most likely be different. Google it before you do it!

With regards to the memory, yeah I've had to swap mine everytime. They should be on bullet connectors so should be quite easy to do.

Yeah, I'm gonna go sit in my car now and get all sweaty trying to work out how to fit it, I'll find the kit anyhow as don't want it rattling around will annoy the crap out of me.

My concern is the fitting though.

Do I need a cage or fascia or the full kit that has that and more?
