  • [Corsa C 2000-2006] New battery installed - Engine electronics warning light

    Hi there,

We've just replaced the battery on my wife's Corsa C (55 Plate) and we're getting the engine electronics warning light on the dashboard (Car with spanner over it). When the vehicle is driven it appears to be in limp/emergency mode and isn't operating properly.

Is there something we need to do after installing a new battery? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,

You'll need to get the codes checked and cleared. On that model it needs diagnostic kit to clear the codes, but they can be read by using the pedal test as per the tutorial section on here.

When installing a new battery you only need to connect it correctly, +ve first and -ve last.

Be very careful not to reverse the battery connections, that will cause damage to the ECU.
