  • [Corsa C 2000-2006] Corsa c windscreen wipers

I have a Corsa C when I switched the windscreen wipers on one day they made a slight twitch and then stopped.
I checked the fuse, that was all right.
I thought the mechanism might be seized so I took it out and it was free.
I Checked for voltage at the fuse, that was ok.
I checked for voltage at the connector to the motor there was none.
I assumed it was the switch and ordered a new one.
I took the motor off and connected it across the battery, it worked.
I re-assembled everything whilst waiting for the new switch.
    I fitted the new switch.
    The wipers do not work!
    Has anyone got any suggestions?

    Thanks texteditor.

They are not switched directly from the column control. Everything goes through a multi-function control box - from what you say I'd suspect that may be the source of the problem.

Check also the earth on the motor, the area the motor is fitted is prone to water ingress. It may be a bad earth on the motor.

Where is this multi-function control box?

Next to the battery, look under the cover held down by torx screws. Not a lot you can do if it is the module though.

What about replacing it? surely that's possible?

Yes - you can replace it of course, but it's expensive. What I meant was there's not a lot you can do taking it to bits.

Beware of disturbing that box. Common fault is water passing through there. Will turn car into swimming pool.
