[Corsa D 2006-2014] Got some questions about wiring up my aftermarket stereo in corsa sting

When changing from my standard radio to my aftermarket one do I need to run a wire to the cig socket? I watched a YouTube vid of a corsa 2005 model, and the person was fiddling with a wire going to the cig socket, and he didn't explain it, can someone help me explain this better, and if I do need to wire up something to the socket can you post of link of one that I can buy ASAP please thanks for reading hope you can help

12v socket will provide ignition live to stereo.

Do you have a link to the video you saw this in?

As there should be everything you need in the factory ISO connectors, ignition live, permanent live etc etc..
