[Non Corsa] Fitting new headunit

I'm going to be fitting my old headunit from my corsa into my astra

Current headunit has had to have the wires chopped at and changed for the wheel controlls where as if I'm right mine just works without having to chop it .. Meaning I will have to unchop?

My headunit might be worse but i don't care it looks better the only reason I will just keep old one is if I am told the steering wheel controlls won't work

Do they not use the same wiring plug in the back of them what with them being the same make?

Those steering wheel control boxes are usually plug and play. Your pic doesnt show where all the wires come form and go to, so can't really say, but generally you always need the box to interface between a GM system, and any other brand of equipment. The steering wheel controls are GM, the headunit is kenwood, you will almost definitely need to keep using the control box.

Red purple black yellow wires go into a box wich goes into the controlls wire(brown)goes on the blue/yellow for old headunit .. Read manual for new one and it says it will just work off oem plug but doesn't do anything because it's been choped old headunit is technicaly better I think but the fully black one fits nicer
