  • [Corsa D 2006-2014] Power Steering Problem

Ok so I had a subwoofer in my car and the wires must have came loose and shorted out a fuse. I turned my car on and where the mileage should be there is the letter 'F' and the power steering isn't working. Please Help

Is this a Corsa C or Corsa D? I would begin by checking all fuses, including any that are under the bonnet etc.. Most newer cars will have electric power steering, so it stands to reason a fuse could have blown if a large enough surge happened.

If its a corsa C, its fuse 49, and its a 50a fuse.

If its a corsa D, its a 7.5a fuse, and its number 10 in the glovebox fuse location.

      Hi Dave

Thanks for your message but I have already tested all the fuses and they are all still working and haven't been blown. What should I do next?

      Thanks

        Hi,

Ok, that was the easy solution off the cards then lol.

The F symbol on the dash typically indicates issues with the transmission. You'd be wise to start doing diagnostics, begin with the pedal test that you can do yourself, after that you're going to need to head to a Vauxhall dealer with actual diagnostics equipment like tech2 to tell you if there's any deeper rotors being logged.

          Hello,

I just tried the pedal test if it is what I am thinking. I held down the brake and accelerator pedals turned the key to position 2 and waited but nothing happened. I also tried it in another corsa d but nothing happened in that either, so maybe I am doing it wrong.
