  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] HELP! subwoofer

Right guys got a weird one for you here.

Subs all wired in the same way as my mates, won't power it though, tried putting his sub in there and still wouldn't power, any tips on what it could be? the wiring kits brand new so don't know why it won't work at all

pretty confusing imo and baffling my head!

You need to do some testing to see whats at fault, is the amp powering up ok? is the amp recieveing an input signal from the headunit? Is the headunit outputting a signal to the amplifier.

Need a lot more info before you can troubleshoot it im afraid.

Well did a multimeter test and the front end/fuse is getting power but the sub end is having no power go through it, it can't be the amp or sub because my mates wasn't working either and it worked in his car..

Why can't it be the amp? At the moment the only part you've proven not to work is the sub, as you've put another sub on that same amp installed in your car. You mentione the main powere feed to the amp is getting power, is it getting a good 12v? Not dropping volts across it at all? First thing I'd check is fi the amp is actually powering up, it needs the 12v remote cable (usually the thin blue wire from the headunit) wired up for it to power up, its like the "on" signal that it needs from the headunit to actually turn the amp on.

Because the amp isn't built into the sub, it's screwed on, his was a built in amp so we put my sub/amp into his car and works fine from there? yeah the 12v remote cable is connected but that's not getting any power from the sub either, like nothing's connected at all if you get what I mean

The 12v remote cable isnt getting 12v? If so then you've either got a break in that wire or the headunit isn't powering it up correctly. You'll need to meter that remote output on the back of the headunit directly, if you've got 12v there, and not at the amp, then the remote wire itself is broken.
