  • [Non Corsa] Fitting aftermarket stereo to Vectra

Hi all, my Vectra thread is overkilled with questions so though I would start one for this.

I want to fit my aftermarket head unit I had in my Corsa to the Vectra. but it appears to have totally different plugs, and I'll get round to sourcing a mounting kit if the Corsa one doesn't fit.

Removing stock - Only sweared once.

    Stock Vectra plug;

Stock Vectra Ariel, again looks different to my unit / and the ISO adapter my unit needed in corsa

Any idea what adapters I need or do I cut off the plugs and solder? - Would rather not?

Buy Vauxhall CD30 CD70 Radio ISO Harness Adaptor

You will lose your steering wheel controls though, if you have any/if you use them/if they work.

Since I plan on keeping this I would like to use steering wheel controls. Can be bought extra with your listed kit Dave?

Tried to find it on site and just got loss in a mess of crazy wire stuff.

Another question I have is, will this drop my ability to control the display wont it (Average MPG, etc?)

I recently used a connect 2 kit which included steering wheel control adapter and the fakra aerial adapter when replacing my cd30, granted it was in a corsa but i'd imagine the kit you need is very similar. One thing I would check is that your aftermarket stereo has the input for steering wheel controls if you want to keep those as from the pictures I can't see the input.

My other question is how do you control the central display screen without stock stereo ?

Pics of my unit to follow.

The car end of the adapter
                    ]"]Photo Storage

Looks like the unit has a very specific looking socket. Would it be adapter into my adapter then unit?

I only know how to change display by using CD30 settings and arrow button. Ill loose control?

Would like to keep steering controls but that's all end game. If it's too much a ball ache to work together I may get a new head unit that has the USB out the back and tidy that factor out too.

Thanks guys for the help, want work all the angles before fitting as Dont want to take it out again.

Car Audio Systems, Car Stereo, DAB Radio, Car Speakers and they have a really good technical department who can tell you what you need and how to fit it. Some people say you have to wire up and ignition wire but if you get some of the connect 2 kits that is already done, you just have to connect 2 plugs together on the wires which is pretty straight forward. I'd get in touch with the guys there .

What is it you are using as a replacement btw?

keeping the steering wheel controls is pretty simple provided you have the input on your stereo, When browsing stereos they will say if they are steering control compatible. The connection (on mine atleast) is pretty much the same as a headphone socket, that lead plugs into an adapter which is plugged into the main adapter via a patch lead.

Not sure but was 300 reduced to 150. .pioneer.

I'll have to have a think about all this when car has been looked at.

Adapter it comes.with has two.sockets in it.

It has a mic port. A similar looking port and I think RCAs

I'm also wondering about losing screen control

That head unit definitely DOES support steering wheel controls.
