I have a GT Aggressor XC2 and I love it, I think it's an 18" frame but can't remember for sure. They don't sell it any more but a similar model IIRC. Only front suspension though, full suspension gets super expensive for a decent brand.

I have some pics but not sure they'll be helpful for size assessment: Error 404 (Not Found)!!1

I used to have a GT and absolutely loved it, until it got stolen and then the insurance company replaced it with a Saracen which I think is ****.

In other words, get a GT.

What height are you JT? Have you had to replace anything on the bike yet? The frame looks like it would be ideal for me with the seat right down.

It's either the Zaskar Sport (2012) or the 2011 Avalanche 1.0 i'm looking at just now and front suspension only as well.

Edit: Yeah Tim, that's a bit of a bad replacement for a GT. Saracen are usually from Halfords and that speaks for itself.

Avalanche is the same as the Aggressor (the Aggressor was only sold by Halfords I think). XC1 is similar to 1.0, XC2 is similar to 2.0 etc.
There are some slight differences but nothing major, similar price/spec.
Halfords no longer sell GT though. Halfords still do some OK bikes to be fair, but you can get better elsewhere.

          I'm about 5' 8 I think

I think they do Boardman Tim, they're usually rated quite well, or Specialized. Anything but Saracen (although I did love my old Saracen with it's triple clamps)

Yeah i'm ordering it from Paul's Cycles online. They're older models but still brand new, but there's a few hundred normally knocked off because they're no longer made. Was your XC2 higher or lower spec than the XC1?
I was wondering why the Aggressor range was never listed on GT's site so that makes sense.

The XC1 is better spec IIRC but not sure what is different, my XC2 has hydraulic disks etc so I guess it's just down to the parts that are used. Maybe Rockshox forks or something (mine are Suntour). Depends on the year!

Pedal fell off twice, seat snapped, generally feels crappy. I don't really use it now.

Pop in to your local Bike Hut just to try a few different bikes out for size. Should give you a better idea what to look for.

That's the plan before i place the order, Just a pain to get to my local one without a car, but hoping to pop in at the weekend to try and gauge what i need. 16" frame would be fine for me seat wise, but not sure if it'll feel weird if the handlebars sit too low.

If you aren't too short I'd suggest an 18

I have a 07/08 specialized rock hopper pro which is a dream for long rides and mountain trails (will pop a pic up later)

And a 2012 voodoo shango jump bike with top spec, that I've stripped down today to rebuild and put back to ridged frame with lower lift bars, great on the tougher jumps and trails, lovely and agile.

I've always liked the look of dirt jumper style bikes. I used to do a bit of BMXing and they seemed like an oversized version.

What size is the frame in the one pictured above Sam?
