Minecraft Server

Hi all,

I'm in 2 minds as to what to do with the Minecraft server.

1. Bring it up to date to use here
2. Get rid of it

It's not really used now Minecraft isn't as popular as it used to be. Does anyone want it to stay? Please only vote yes if you are actually going to use it as I'll re-assess it from time to time to see who is actually using it.

Technically it's from AC but will be renamed etc if I bring it across... We've had it running for a year or two

Can you give me the map and player files perhaps?? Or find a way to host it for less/free?

If host it at home, it'd probably have 98% uptime. Would probably lag with anything more than 3 players on though.

Shame to lose the progress.

I am more than happy to share the whole lot (although might need to check I haven't got any passwords in it first). I'm not worried about the cost but it does require maintaining/updating and I rarely bother with that meaning it's unusable a lot of the time.

I want it to stay. I always have a go on it when they bring out a new update.

OK no problem, does anyone know if there are any tools to keep the server/plugins up to date?

I can import the map into my server and run it as a separate world it need be. I have a smaller player base, would need to set it up to work but can be done.

A quick google shows there are plugins that auto-update your bukkit plugins.. One of them ought to do the trick?

Will see if we can get something to keep ours up to date and use that if possible, if not we may but we have quite a few plugins and they would affect all your worlds...

I use some of these. I meant the map not the server. Ny server has mobileadmin. But then that's only for me. We use permissionEx. Again can't move ranks. Got chat manager. Modifyworld,dynmap,multiverse, have an alternative chest lock plugin. If you dump the world folder of the map I can upload it and you can see. In my server I don't run individual protection but any edits can be rolled back. Have a ranking system depending on how trusted. Check out mc.osiris-craft.com:25583

Can copy the map though at least if you really sick of hosting. I usually on the ball with mine but mostly just pay the bill
