• First ever Vauxhall!

Hi! Just picked up my first ever Vauxhall today, a Corsa D VXR in Arden Blue, it's on a 13 plate but with a nice low 12.5k miles on the clock! Previously ive had a mk1 Ford Focus 1.4 petrol, then a mk4 Golf GTI 1.8t. Loved my focus and enjoyed being part of all the owners clubs and forums, so I'm looking forward to getting to know this forum. My Golf had one problem after another, so wanted a fresh start with something newer which I can rely on, so I'm hoping my Corsa will look after me as I'll look after it . I'm from Wallsend, just outside of Newcastle and I'm always at the local car meets and events, so if anyone is from around Tyne and Wear I may see them sometime. Anyway, I look forward to having a nosey around, and will probably get a membership as I'm into photography so would like to have a look in there.
Thanks, Kay x

Modern VWs are appalling cars, no wonder you weren't happy with the Golf. Vauxhall build quality is better but not bombproof. Key thing with them is to let it warm up for a good few miles before you give it any welly. Same goes for not thrashing it just before switching off. Other than that keep oil & filter changes more frequent than the service schedule using good quality oil/filters. Everything else do as per spec.

Most of the problems people have with them are down to poor maintenance of bad driving habits (eg ignorance about what ragging a cold engine does to it).

Welcome to the Forum.
If that is as good as it looks, you have got yourself a nice car.

Thank you, it's a beautiful car to drive, just so nice! Will deffinelty look after it, all ready have a set of VXR seat covers for my recaros as I work outside, so ordered them for it coming. It came with a set of genuine VXR mats in too which was a bonus! Just spent some time mastering the CD player, never used this kind of radio before, or had a one which pairs with my phones Bluetooth so ive managed to sort all of that, took some time but I'm not exactly technically minded lol.

Here's the link to the seat covers, they're just pull on and pull off ones for me to use for work, they do the job though!

It sure is an upgrade lol. The focus is a nice car though, the mk1s last forever, had mine painted blue as well so it's nice to have moved on to a blue corsa.
