  • TV Discussion Thread

Would have named this new TV for me advise thread but this should cover all future topics.

I want to buy a new TV.
Looking for something that can do 400Hz and with buttery smooth pictures. My old cheapo 100Hz stuttered now and then.
Also must have HD Freeview, at least 3 x HDMI ports, USB port and WiFi connectivity.

Thinking this one as best as i have my Galaxy S5 phone, it's quad core and Samsung are well known for good screens.

Samsung H6410 40" Slim LED Smart HD 3D TV

I don't really follow TV tech though so any advice / opinions please fire away

Pretty much what we have here. Great TV, I would definitely invest in a wireless keyboard and mouse with it though

I have the 48" h6400, can't recommend it enough, think it got TV of the year or something, think the h6410 is the same with a different stand or something

Also has a smart remote, a bit like a wii controller, so don't really need keyboard/mouse unless you're browsing Internet from it I guess

Any complaints about the TV at all? Don't fancy buying another anytime soon after this.

None at all, lack of vga port caused me a few issues connecting my old server but that's it

I've just bought a Samsung smart TV and I'm made up with it. Highly recommended.
Mines the series 5 I think, so a step down from that (but the best 32" I think).

I'd suggest using richer sounds too, free 5 year warranty for the 6400 (it has a different stand, but that's it I believe) - it's also cheaper

John Lewis also do a 5 year guarantee on all TVs.
Unfortunately when I got mine both richer sounds and John Lewis were out of stock.

Got ours from john Lewis. Was an issue with Samsung TVs with them just turning off. Ours had to go back and was replaced under warranty. Common fault back then (around 2 years ago now)

All good advise so far guys, cheers.
Seems like a winner. Is the 3D any good compared to cinema 3D for those that use it?

I've used it, all Samsung TVs are active 3D which is supposed to be higher resolution but can notice the flicker (I hear it's best with all other lights off but haven't actually tried that). Extra glasses aren't really expensive these days but are more expensive than cinema ones).

My other TV (LG) is passive 3D (cinemas use passive, and can use glasses from cinema at home) which I found was better on my eyes but everyone has different opinions.

                            3d films
                            In bluray are good
