  • What's the worst present you've ever had?

It's my birthday on Sunday and as every year goes by, I seem to take on the mindset more and more that I'm just not bothered by presents.

They're either massively anticlimactic, or boring because you know what they are before you unwrap them because they were one of the few things you actually need so you asked for it lol.

I much prefer just meeting up with friends and going out for a few drinks. Or going on a holiday instead.

I think the worst present I ever got was a couple of years ago at Christmas. My brother was unemployed at the time so had no money. He bought me a jumper from a charity shop that was too big, had a stain on it and was originally from Primark.

In before "Worst 'It's my birthday on Sunday' post ever".

            This is my thought exactly.

Most presents are things I don't want, else I would have bought them already. Or clothes that don't fit.

I'd much rather go out and do something, or just have the money. When I get given money I always make the point of spending it on something rather than just on the weekly shop. That way I can show the person what I got with it, plus I actually get to buy something I want.

Last Christmas i paid for myself, my mam and dad and my grandma to go to Edinburgh by train (first class ) and then into the Whiskey museam. They all appericiated that much more than and i got a good day out as well. Also after paying for the train and the Gold tour I wasn't allowed to put my hand in my pocket for the rest of the day. Win win.

Cousins I took bowling, plus all the kids and again we all enjoyed it.

Probably do the same again this year. I would much rather someone did this for me then buying me something I don't need.

My Grandma (who live in her own little world, and for various reasons my brother and I haven't spoke to for years) bought me a teddy bear for my 17th birthday.

One christmas, my dad (when I spoke to him..) was a master at concealing gifts, was known to open and reseal things. Once hid a video game in a box of caramel popcorn, he cut it open and reglued it like new. Well one year, he bought a BIG box from Staples (office supply store.) and it SAID it was a box of paper....

                          Turns out..
