I thought I'd start up a new home AV thread since I've recently updated my bedroom setup.

Some of you may note that my TV is much smaller than the one in the thread on AC. I decided that the TV I had was too big for the room and that I'd go for a smaller TV but with a better screen (previous TV was an old 1080p Samsung 40" LCD but TV's have come a long way in 5 years).

Anyway here is mine as it stands:

    Starting from the top:
1080p LG TV with passive 3D
    Sky box (used for Freesat)
Pioneer BDP-LX71 (one of the best Bluray players around according to a lot of people, now superseded by the Pioneer Elite range though)
    Sony STR-DB940
HP Proliant ML115 (this is a quad core VMware server that stores my media, runs my Plesk media server and does my automatic download of TV episodes as soon as they are available)
    PS3 (used for 3D Blurays)
Logitech Harmony 700 remote to control it all (with the PS3 adapter)
There is a Roku XS out of sight (the remote is bluetooth)

What kind of price range is your computer?

No - log in to Sign In and there should be an invite at the bottom. Or click the link in the email you would have received last week/week before.

Also do these servers have all the harddrive a in?

I've looked on eBay and there seems to be a few devices for this; mainly android base with xbmc on, however I would then need to add external storage as well.

The servers do yes, mine has 4 bays for drives (and an internal USB which has the operating system on it). The MicroServer also has 4 bays and internal USB.
If you run Plex you may find XBMC is a bit of a faff in comparison, Plex is great for running it through the entire house on all devices, XBMC is great for just 1 place (watch list etc doesn't sync without some trickery). I'd recommend Plex over XBMC to anyone, I switched and find it to be much better.

I'm looking to set this kind of thing up. I'm planning to use plex and sream to my tv via my 360. If i had NAS attached to my router and then use plex on my phone, would it work?

You need a Plex server, if you NAS can run that then it's fine, but not many can.
