  • Air compressor plumbing

Hello everyone, I have a 150l air compressor which is in my shed. My question is what sort of materials would I need for pluming it to my front garden? I'm debating with PVC Piping or copper? What sort of couplings would I need? Would I need a water trap? It has one on it already

Copper with soldered joints. If you have a long run of copper where water vapour can condense on the pipe then fit a water trap in that section where the condensed water will run down the pipe. You want the water trap away from the compressor as hot air will carry moisture through the trap.

Yeah copper pipe seems to be the best solution, I was going to T off because water is heavier than air, it will save me buying a water trap! What do you think to the idea?

If there is a long run of pipe sloping upwards then water will condense out in that section, so fit some form of drain at the bottom end of that section. You want that some distance from the compressor to allow the air to be cooler by the time it reaches the condensation pipe.
