  • My House

Well as, I think, most of you know my house is up for sale. I've now found the photos of what my house was like before we bought it and renovated it, so here is my house project thread.

Let's start with the front door, how it used to look

How it looks now...not much different

We then come to the front room, notice the nice open plan room into the dining room

Well we decided the open plan living room/dining room was horrible so we built a wall and ended up with a living room like this...

Which brings me on to the nice small kitchen, which had a serving hatch into the dining room

So knocked that wall down and turned it into an open plan kitchen/diner

Thanks, it is the best room in the house and everyone who has been in it has said the same thing. There is a lot of other things I would change to bring it up to being as good as the kitchen.

This house is owned by myself and the ex, she has moved out but I am selling it to then buy my own house back in the town (currently in a village). Probably will end up with a slightly smaller house if I'm honest.

No need to apologise, you've done nothing wrong And I'm looking forward to starting a new project house, speakers in all the walls this time though (biggest mistake when the house was ripped apart, why didn't I put surround sound and speakers in the kitchen.)

I agree about the kitchen, it's lovely. Will you be getting a rotating bed with mirrors in the ceiling in your new house Tim now you're a bachelor?

Beds staying, it's a super king so it's massive, I can actually sleep sideways in it the fact I live out of town put a 45 year old women off sampling it last night...maybe that's a good thing

Now the mirrors in the ceiling is a good idea, I might have to do that

That's the plan, all controlled by a media server downstairs and so I can control what music plays where.

Now had an offer accepted on a house. The house isn't even on the market yet. Got a call from the estate agents saying to view as its a really nice house. They did the valuation, I viewed an hour later and I had put an offer in an hour after that

Once I get photos I'll put them up, unfortunately it has already been completely renovated so I won't be able to fit my speakers but it's already fully in my taste so I can move it and do nothing.

What's the new area like? Better/worse than where you are now?

Back into Darlington which is what I wanted. Not a bad area at all, quite quiet really.
